This little man shared his life with me for over 11 years. We traveled the world together and every day he was a loyal spectator on the sideline of my yoga mat.
To be honest, our beginnings were a bit rocky. Each time I rolled out my mat, Max saw it as an invitation to play with Mummy and ran around super excited or he licked my face just when I stood on my head. But with years of practice he learned to wait until the last pose, before he gently walked over and laid down on the mat with me. These were, without a doubt, the best moments of my practice.
Its a beautiful experience to share what you love with people or animals that are close to you. Yoga is part of my life and to a great extend, I am the person that I am today because of my practice.
Thats why I believe that yoga should be practiced inclusive, especially when at home, don’t lock yourself away, let your kids and partner see what you are doing. Make your practice part of your whole life and you will gain more acceptance from your environment by doing what is important to you. After all, you might even spark some curiosity and inspire your loved ones to get on the mat too.
